Auschwitz symbol of the extermination of the Jews and the Nazi terror against European nations. Situated on the edge of Upper Silesia a part of Polish territory that was incorporated Third Reich after the outbreak of World War II, Auschwitz was the largest camp complex of the Nazi era. It also contained over 40 subs-camps, located primarily near German industrial plants. Auschwitz was established as a concentration camp in 1940, by order of Himmler, head of the SS and the German Police. The name Auschwitz also refers to three separate camps Auschwitz I, Auschwitz II-Birkenau and Auschwitz III-Monowitz.

We found it easy to book on-line with Krakow Discovery and they were also very helpful in answering our questions, making suggestions and keeping us informed of any changes to the schedule. The car was really clean and comfortable, which coupled with a safe and pleasant driver (who spoke fluent English) made for a very smooth and enjoyable experience.

From first enquiry to being dropped off, we had good communication with Krakow Discovery. Slight problem with the road outside the hotel being a tram run for the pick up , but the driver contacted us and all good. Very snowy on the day and again excellent work by the driver on the unprepared roads. We opted for the private vehicle for four of us and so plenty of room. The guide explained everything well and after getting in there was plenty of things to see and experience, which is a must so that it is never forgotten.

We booked this tour after researching the various tours to Auschwitz. We opted for the private tour which was well worth the extra money. From booking to contacting us the day before the tour the communication was excellent. We were offered a packed lunch for 30zl each which was well worth the money, there are limited facilities to purchase anything and we had been looking to go To a bakery prior to being picked up, but this solved that. The transport was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Our guide rang us when he was outside to collect us and dropped us off at a destination of Our choice in krakow.
