  • Visitors are generally allowed to take pictures with a few, clearly indicated exceptions.
  • In Auschwitz Birkenau your carry-on cannot exceed the dimensions of 30 x 20 x 10 cm.
  • Some areas in Auschwitz-Birkenau are not be accessible with baby pushchairs nor by wider wheelchairs. The museum provides substitute wheelchairs of size allowing to move around the grounds and buildings. Exhibition halls in Oskar Schindler Factory are wheelchair accessible.

We booked onto the tour for 12 Dec 24, early start because of a very full day , Krakov Direct operated this tour and I have to say we’re impeccable despite people arriving late for the pick up ( slept in ! some people eh?) , the coach driver kept his cool and delivered us safely to Auschwitz-Birkenau to meet our tour guide (Jacob), he delivered his information to the group with lots of detail and compassion, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend Krakov Direct as a tour operator ours was booked through TUI and was definitely value for money.

I booked this tour company based on the company's fantastic Trip Advisor reviews. Our initial experience of the minibus pickup and tour around Auschwitz was spot on deserving of a five-star review. Both Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau were solemn and thought-provoking places as you would expect, and our tour guide and driver were great throughout. However, the second part of our booking at the Oskar Schindler factory got off to a very disappointing start and descended into farce at one point. We were dropped off with the rest of our tour group and only our family's names were not on the list for the stated tour start time. It caused a lot of stress for us as we were left standing on the street with our young child as the rest of our group continued on without us. The staff on the ground checking off names were useless and it was left to me to call the company and resolve. After a few frantic phone calls, it eventually turned out we had been allocated a later tour slot (an hour and a half later) without being informed about this. This also caused problems with getting our possessions from the minibus and transfer back to our hotel separately to everyone else. This would have led to a zero-star review at the time, but in fairness the company did ultimately resolve our issue and arranged a later pickup for us. Staff member Patrycia was also very helpful on the phone in resolving the issue. And driver Bartek was friendly. We did eventually get around the museum (which was great) and we only lost a couple of hours waiting around. Hence a 3-star review. Hopefully this was not typical of most people's experiences. I would still recommend this tour company, but if they are reading this, they should take note and investigate what happened here/ensure this doesn't happen again to other families.

Wow!! A very emotional well worth seeing tour! Anyone that goes to Krakow should go on this tour. Seeing everything that happened there is so upsetting but something that at the same time you need to experience
