-Some of the hotels are in closed vehicle zones. Then the pickup will be from the nearest possible place.
-You will be picked up by a minivan with a maximum of 8 seats.

    Our trip to Salt Mine will start with picking up from a previously determined place in Krakow from a hotel or apartment. The journey from Krakow to Wieliczka takes about 40 minutes. Information about your pick up time you will get one day before the trip.
  • Wieliczka Salt Mine, Wieliczka, Poland
    Visiting the Wieliczka Salt Mine takes 3 hours. Before visiting, you will receive headphones to better hear the guide. The entire route is less than 3 km and there are over 800 stairs to climb. However, they are beaten in batches. Return to the top is the elevator.

I’ve given this tour 5 stars because the operator’s attention to detail. They sent a text a few days before with the information, name of driver and vehicle we would be picked up in. The operator organised our ticket and picked us up from the hotel. The actual tour is provided by the mine, you are given a headset to wear, you walk down stairs to the bottom, stopping off in chambers. The stairs are wooden, equally spaced and have railings. The guide was knowledgeable and did give lots of information. We stoped for 5/10 minutes in one of the chambers where you could buy gifts or snack, also an opportunity to use the loo. Note you are not there for long, I think you need to choose what you’re going to do! There is a lift back up, however, the queue is very long, and you’re not warned of this. Only 36 people per lift, the lift is 2 tiered. Thankfully it takes less than a minute. Only way I can describe the lift is that it’s a cage. Before entering our driver told us to meet him back at the car at a certain time, because the queue was so long to get out, we weren’t able to buy any souvenirs.

The person that picked me up was on time and at the prearranged location. He was very friendly and had good knowledge of the area and other places that could be visited during my stay. The tour itself was informative and interesting. The salt mine had beautiful carvings. The driver was at the designated location at the end and got me promptly back to enjoy the rest of the day.
