Definitely worth the short trip out of town! Our driver Adrian started the day off well by being super friendly and answering as best he could the 101 questions I had about Krakow. Especially appreciated the fantastic dining recommendations he sent me also. Top tip; nothing is on time in Krakow due to the traffic. Adrian was running late but kept me constantly updated but still got us there in plenty of time for the tour to start. Short time queuing outside in the rain so check weather and take an umbrella/waterproof etc as needed. Our guide Maria was nice enough but quite snippy at times and afterwards our group all said they felt that she was a bit impatient and didn't really like answering questions. Also, if you have any health worries be sure to tell your guide up front as once you start walking there is NO turning around. I thought I had dropped my inhaler and when tried to check was YELLED AT by two other guides who refused to let me past to check (I understand completely the need for health and safety that you mustn't get split up from your group. But their lack of empathy when I was having difficult breathing was staggering, and the reason this is a 4 and not a 5 star review). The whole tour took just over two hours during which time we visited 20+ chambers, went down 135 feet and yet still only saw 1% of the whole mines!?!? I did the tourist route and would have returned for the Miners Route if I'd had more time. The walking was not too bad and the steps down are all wide, wooden, non-slippy and with handrails. As an extremely claustrophobic person I was worried but was fine throughout. Although I didn't love the elevator ride back to the surface: 9 people crammed into a low ceiling lift, but it took about 45 seconds. I just stared at the floor and we all sang a song to get me through it.

The driver is friendly and helpful sent us to the Salt Mine. The guide who brought our group is good but she spoke very soft over the microphone which I tends to try to catch what she is she sharing.
