Our tour through the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland was spectacular, thanks to our guide Marek. Although the summer crowds meant we were packed tightly together, it was manageable. We experienced bottlenecks on the stairs, within the mines, and even at the refreshment points, where a supposed 5-minute break turned into a wait of the same length just to order. The mine itself is a vast labyrinth, but Marek, with his decades of experience, expertly navigated us through. Tours are available in multiple languages, including English, German, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Czech. Despite the rush due to the crowds, the tour was comfortable and not physically demanding. The highlight was visiting the largest operational underground church in Europe—an awe-inspiring sight. Fortunately, taking photos is allowed and free of charge. Parking was a bit confusing, but manageable, and the souvenirs available were both interesting and beautiful.
