Learn about the traditional bamboo longhouses of Sarawak on this cultural three-hour tour from Kuching. Anah Rais is considered one of the largest Bidayuh longhouses and therefore one of the most popular. Previously known as the Land Dayak during the British colonial rule, this well preserved bamboo longhouse is home to many families.

    Annah Rais is a large Bidayuh (Land Dayak) village about 45 minutes from Kuching. The focal point of the village is a large and well-preserved traditional longhouse which is home to dozens of families. This guided tour introduces visitors to the unique use of bamboo within the longhouse and the traditional farming lifestyle of the Bidayuh. The journey to the longhouse itself is picturesque.

We enjoyed this short visit to the longhouse that provided an interesting snapshot of both modern and traditional ways of life for this Bidayuh community at Annah Rais. The tour operator company was flexible and our guide was friendly. We appreciate this experience overall and are keen to learn more about other longhouses and tribes, and we hope our family and Kuching locals visit as well!

It's traditional in that people live there. They'll sell you locally produced rice wine, local peppercorns and a very limited range of souvenirs. But they are built on concrete and steel as much as wood and bamboo, And its a long way to and from Kuching for not very much - in my opinion - and it did rain so maybe grumpy?.

Morning, Sorry i think this is not really pic of Bidayuh Village Bamboo Longhouse. it is a Orang Ulu Longhouse... please review picture and it will help others to know exact our culture and longhouse.
