Qaruh & Umm Al Maradim Islands are famous for pearl oysters that are found close to the sea bed. Clear waters and coral reefs make the islands worth a visit. Surrounded by deep waters, the boat stop close to the shores, which is an advantage that is not available on most islands. Tourists will see several exotic fishes and coral reefs will leave them awestruck. It is highly recommended by the locals and is one of the most gorgeous places to snorkel in. The islands is perfect for all the adventurous people as getting glimpse of a different kind of marine life is rare. It is a chance that should not be missed.

    It is the smallest of the nine islands, and also the furthest island from the Kuwaiti mainland. It is located 37.5 kilometres east of the mainland coast, and 17 kilometres northeast of Umm al Maradim. The island is roughly 275 meters long by 175 meters at its widest

    It is 1.5 kilometres (0.9 miles) in length and 540 metres (1,770 feet) in width, which represents an area of approximately 65 hectares (160 acres). It is an oval-shaped island with a sand cape. Pearl oysters breed around the island's seabed.

  • Advance booking is required and subject to weather condition. Boat leave from Al Khairan Marina (South of Kuwait about 1 hour drive from Kuwait City) and will take about 45 minutes to reach the islands. Please note that there is no air condition at the boat and the weather is hot during the summer.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Weather was so hot during July in Kuwait, but we have enjoyed the boat trip to the islands. The kids liked the swimming and snorkeling at the islands.

Perfect full day at Arabian gulf sea, good instructions and relaxed atmosphere. We had a great time on this snorkeling trip. We visited 2 islands. Waleed was a great guide who shared interesting facts about Kuwait and gulf sea. Thank you for a fantastic trip!

We had fun at the Island with nice snorkeling experience. The snacks were good, and we spend most of the day swimming. The water was quite cold since it is still spring session, and we could do it again in summer.
