Japan, 〒600-8004 Kyoto, Shimogyo Ward, Naramonochō, ３６３ 1F Meet the guide in front of Kyoto Plaza Shijo on the main street. The tour starts at 5pm on the dot. If you miss the 5pm meet-up, please join the group at the first sit-down restaurant which we send you about a week before the tour date.

    Nishiki Market is the traditional food market located in the downtown area in Kyoto. We will stop by 2-3 family owned shops to try sample-size food that represents the food culture and history in Kyoto.

    We will visit 2-3 restaurants to try Kyoto style food ranging from Obanzai (Kyoto style cuisine) to local izakaya dishes.

  • Pontocho District, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan
    We will walk through the Pontocho District which is a mini geisha district where we will learn the history of Kyoto and the geisha culture.

Our guides were polite, knowledgeable, and cheerful. We felt as though we had been invited to a night out that we could have never arranged by ourselves. We were guided through throngs of tourists to slip into local favorite foodie spots. Both guides were attentive and proactive. All in our small group of six were delighted with the experience. And, yes, all of us were foodies!
