This is a very unique activity where you can actually learn how to make bamboo crafts. You can design and make your own bamboo craft such as LED lantern, smartphone holder, flower base, sake bottle, sake cup, tea cup…at your own ideas! No worries if you have no experience, we will instruct you in detail how to cut and use tools to make bamboo crafts. The workshop locates in a bamboo craftsman’s house with all the equipments needed.

Learning about bamboo and picking out and designing the lamp. We also enjoyed the walk through the bamboo forest.

What a wonderful and fun afternoon. Great way to not only see the bamboo forest but to learn and then craft your own souvenir. Noriko and her son met our group at the train station then took us on a tour of the bamboo groves and telling us all about the Japanese bamboo. We then walked to her home workshop where we each could cut, design and then proceed to drill our design onto the bamboo with the help of Noriko and her husband and son. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to bring home a souvenir that they took part in making. We even had tea served in our own bamboo cups!

For everyone who likes to craft this is a really fun workshop. First you get a short walk trough the bamboo forest, which is immense. The workshop will be given at the guides house and the whole familie is helping. Sun and husband, they are speaking very good english and are very helpful. You can ask them everything, also about the japanese culture. Its very nice to have an unique and selfmade souvernir. i would really recommend this workshop to everyone.
