Via Nazionale, 16a, 00184 Roma RM, Italy La Traviata is a three-act opera composed by Giuseppe Verdi on an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. It was first performed on March 6th, 1853 at La Fenice opera house in Venice. Verdi insisted on finding an original and provocative idea for the audience in Venice, and decided to base his work on La dame aux Camélias (1852), a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas (fils). The piece was originally titled Violetta, after the protagonist. This famous opera remains among the most performed masterpieces of the entire lyric tradition.

The audience will enjoy an extraordinary and memorable experience, surrounded by the fascinating atmosphere of St. Paul within the Walls Church. We had front row seats to La Treviata in Rome It was one of the hottest nights in Rome, so congrats to the performers and orchestra.
We had googled the synopsis of the opera, which greatly assisted us following the performance.
The Opera and music was fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a great way to end our visit to Rome.
The church was a beautiful backdrop for a wonderful performance. Highly recommend attending!
