You will be picked up around 5AM from your hotel and reach the trailhead after ~3h drive. Beginning the trek, you will go through beautiful trek passes by alpine meadows and beside a river. The trail then ascends up along switchblades to reveal majestic waterfalls and streams. You'll enjoy views of two smaller lakes before your final ascent up the valley. After a steep incline up the mountain, you'll finally reach the renowned azure waters of Laguna 69 (~2h30/3h total hike). You will have ~1h30 of time to enjoy the view and have lunch (not incuded, bring your own picnic) before descending for another 1h30 hike and drive back to Huaraz. NB: this is not a private tour, so the vehicle will pick up different travelers in the morning. However, you will be free to explore and hike at your own pace.

We will pick you up from your hostel in Huaraz! But we can only do this if you email / whatsapp: full names of travellers participating, the hostel name and room number immediately after booking has been confirmed.

    Pick up is at 5am, we will stop at Llaganuco Lake for photos at 8am before begining our hike at 8.30am. We should reach Laguna 69 at 12pm and return to the starting point at 3.30pm, arriving back in Huaraz 6pm

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

It was a great tour and a really good day. Thank you very much. The two disappointments are, that we planed (like written in the contract) with an end at the same place where we were collected. So we have had a longer way home with two tired kids. Further on called the contract a maximum of 20 people but there were 28 what means a litten bit less comftorbility. The tour was really good, but a lot of tourists expect what is written in the contract. Muchas gracias!

Tl;dr: Spend $5 more and go with a decent tour company. This tour was not as advertised. We were picked up a few minutes before 5am by a taxi, then proceeded to wait 20 minutes for the bus. When the bus finally came, we spent another 30+ minutes picking up other participants. This was advertised as English/Spanish - please note that the "guide" DOES NOT SPEAK ANY ENGLISH. He also did not guide - he did not go up to Laguna 69 along with the group. Finally, we all had to stop 40 minutes at a breakfast place on the way which also was NOT included in the description - the description said to pack a breakfast for the road. This ate up time that we could have been at the lake. I want to say in advance that I know the tour operator is going to argue with everything I've said here; they told me no other English speakers had an issue. That's fine. It does not change the fact that the guide spoke absolutely no English and they are performing false advertisement. They've made it clear that they don't care about client experience, so take that for what you will.

Andean Summit was very helpful with the booking of this tour and another one. Communication was outstanding. It was easy for me to step on to the tour bus from Yungay which saved me hours. The trek to the Lagune takes some motivation because it's quite demanding but the rewards are manyfold. The price is excellent for the service. Thank you!
