Lisa (the driver/guide) was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself visited numerous locations mostly with wonderful views etc.

Driver was very friendly and informative. Stunning views from beginning to end with plentiful stops for comfort breaks and photos. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars is that there were 2 stops that could have done with a longer stay - castle and creamery.

Strengths and highlights:
- Our tour guide, Mark, knew the country like the back of his hand and took us all over the Dales, with some audience participation as to what routes to take and where to visit.
- The tour itself alternates between ridiculously charming and quaint villages, and utterly jaw-dropping views of the farms and hills of the Dales. Mark also showed us the Butter Tubs, immense natural narrow canyons or wells up to 80 feet deep in which farmers used to store butter. Don't fall in!
- The Wensleydale Creamery has plenty of free samples and Mark had an icebox in the back of the van in case anyone wanted to take home some cheese. The creamery's shop is very touristy but the cheese offering is broad.
- We had lunch in Reeth, another wonderful village in the Dales, and there's an amazing art shop with tons of prints, sculptures, and clothing made by local artists. If you want some great souvenirs, check it out.
Areas of improvement / things to watch out for:
- The tour description on TA makes it sound like Bolton Castle, a really remarkable 14th-century landmark, is a core part of the tour, and I was expecting to spend a fair bit of time there - to get a ticket and walk around inside, possibly a guided tour, etc., but we were only at Bolton for ~20 minutes. Obviously I could have spoken up when Mark asked at the beginning of the tour about where we wanted to go, but given the tour description I took it for granted that we'd get a nice long look at Bolton.
- This has nothing to do with the tour's execution - just that it was very hot and the waterfalls were more like trickles. Obviously Mountain Goat has no control over this but just manage your own expectations. If you're expecting to see Aysgarth Falls in all its splendor, maybe visit in the fall or spring.
