I was born and raised in Lalibela and hence what you can call a true local. Lalibela has a fascinating cultural ancestry unique even by Ethiopian standards, which I am delighted to share with guests by putting my personal experience in place. We will get off the beaten path, explore the local traditions and have a trully memorable Ethiopian journey. I am profoundly famiilar with all the surrounding mountain area as it has been my home since I can remember. The trekkings are flexible according to guest preference, from the more accessible to the more daring. We will also take the chance to meet local people who will add an even more genuine touch to the experience
  • Not much equipment is needed as the trek is relatively accessible. Complimentary water is provided

Tewabe is a great guy to hang out and make trips in Lalibela with! Loved by thr locals and know n around town, he will make you feel at home and introduce you to his friends/family/community! highly reccomend!

Me and a friend had a great experience in Lalibela with Lalibela Backpacker tour. Apart of churches, we could explore the place hiking. And nothing better than do it with who really know the area, a local. Tewabe was an incredible professional who made us feel home, safe. I definitely recommend his services.
