In this 4 days tour, you will see that the masterpiece of rock-hewn churches of King Lalibela, which is unique for their way of excavating from top to down from one solid rock and it is one of the world heritage sites since 1978. Hudad, meaning Big Farm, was named by King Lalibela in the 11th century when he first visited the area. We spent an amazing few days in Lalībela and Addis with Muluye from Zagol Ethiopian Tours during which we were lucky enough to see the absolutely wonderful Timkat ceremonies and the unbelievable rock hewn churches and also the beautiful palace of menelik with sole great historical places as well

A friend and I spent one week in Lalibela during our vacations to relax and get to know a bit of the Ethiopian culture. This beautiful city has a very long history and is surrounded by endless mountains. Muluye was our guide and made us feel at home there. He thoughted us a lot about the traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and took us to amazing hiking tours with breath-taking views and the company of well-behaved baboons. In the end of our stay we also had a cooking class with his wife and learned to prepare delicious Ethiopian food. Last but not least, he supported us during the rest of our stay in Ethiopia by co-organizing a tour for the Danakil desert (another unforgettable experience in this country) and giving us tips on places to visit. If you are looking for a tour agency while visiting Ethiopia, I totally recommend the Zagol Ethiopia Tours.
