This private tour with Winemaker is completely dedicated to Piedmont wines and their secrets. The winemaker will lead you to the details of the Terroir and vinification techniques. We will walk through the vineyard to discover the singularity of our unique Terroir, the origin of the formation of soils, the connection between the climate, the wine growing, and the grape varieties. - Morning: 2 commented wine tasting session in a family run wineries in Barolo area (detailed tour of the winery, wine-making unit and aging cellar). - Lunch: I take care of booking your table in a « Piedmont » typical restaurant (To be paid directly). - Afternoon: We will have 1 Commented wine tasting sessions in family run winery in Barbaresco area. We will meet at your hotel if it's located in Alba, Barolo, Monforte d'Alba or elsewhere in the surrounding area: we'll schedule during the booking process. Understand how little differences of the soil could lead to completely different wines and where the 181 crus of Barolo and 66 of Barbaresco are located. Alessio was such a great tour guide. He was incredibly informative and knew the area really well. He introduced us to the most passionate people at different wineries, who gave us an in-depth lesson on how Barolo and Barbaresco wines are made. Alessio himself is also very knowledgeable about wine and answered every nuanced question we had. It was such an effortless and comfortable tour and we had a great experience overall.

We highly recommend Alessio! We had such an enjoyable day! Alessio is friendly and professional. We experienced engaging and interesting conversation with varied discussions about the highlights of the wine region and local wine makers. If you’re into wines from the Barolo and Barbaresco areas, you’re going to love to spend the day with Alessio! If you’re not into it, you will be by the time the day is over! His choice of the restaurant, L’ Osteria Del Vignaiolo, for our lunch was also delicious! The entire day was well planned out from start to finish with pick up and drop off at our hotel. We have several shipments of wine on their way to our home back in the states to savor and share with friends as a result of our tastings at each of the wineries, as well. A BIG THANK YOU to Alessio for making this relaxing and enjoyable day the highlight of our trip to Italy!
