The trip around Lantau Island with Amy was fantastic! We had a wonderful time. We got amazing photos and learned a lot about Hong Kong in general and Lantau in detail. Thank you Amy! We will see you next year!

My tour guide was Amy and she was brilliant. Originally from England, she speaks perfect English and and Cantonese and is clearly well liked by the locals on Lantau. It was such a fascinating tour, never been anywhere like the village. Very inspiring. We also saw white dolphins and tried local foods. Amy was very personal and fun. Highly recommend

This was our first visit to Hong Kong and we couldn’t be more happy with the excellent introduction to the city provided by our guide, Amy, from Hong Kong Greeters.
We choose the Lantau Island tour because it offered an overview of Hong Kong and a more in depth visit to Lantau Island. Our favorite part of the tour was the visit to the charming fishing village of Tai O. This is a “must see” stop on your visit to Hong Kong! We enjoyed the boat ride in search of “pink dolphins” and the opportunity to relax for coffee and tea at the Tai O Heritage Hotel (a wonderful, secluded boutique hotel overlooking the water).
We continued our tour walking through the village, tasting local food and learning about the local history from Amy. Afterward we were driven to Ngong Ping 360 where we visited the Big Buhda and the monastery . The walk up the steps to the Buddha statue is worth the effort and Amy provided excellent commentary inside the museum/memory palace in the base of the statue.
Our day ended by taking the cableway to Tung Chung (beautiful view, even though it was a bit hazy) and then back to the ship by car. We had a wonderful time!
Finally, please note the following:
1) this is an excellent tour to take from a cruise ship (easy pick-up and drop-off from the port)
2) when in Hong Kong you should visit Tai O. Because of entry restrictions, this is one of the few ways to see it by car.
3) transportation is first class.
4) most importantly, Amy is an outstanding guide. Friendly, knowledgeable and sets a flexible and easy pace.
Thanks again! We will be back next year.
