  • Casa Museo Del Campesino, San Bartolome, Spain
    Located in the geographical centre of Lanzarote in the municipality of San Bartolomé, the Casa-Museo del Campesino is the work with which César Manrique recognises the efforts of the farmers of Lanzarote. From the bus we will see the Monumento a la Fecundidad, also known as the Monumento al Campesino. It is a construction of more than 15 metres, created by César Manrique together with the master Jesús Soto, from old water tanks from ships, iron and concrete objects assembled together, a magnificent reflection of avant-garde art, which has become one of the iconographic symbols of the island.

    La Geria is a peculiar area of the island of Lanzarote with an abundance of vineyards. With a volcanic landscape and arid land, the quality of its wines is surprising. It is unusual to find vineyards in such a terrain. We will stop at a winery for a small wine tasting.

    The Fire Mountains are the unusual result of the eruptions in the south of Lanzarote in the 18th and 19th centuries. A spectacle of red craters, lava flows and lunar landscapes that reflect the burning of the earth and its uncontrollable force. Its 200 kilometres of extension form part of the Timanfaya National Park, where one of the largest volcanic activities in the world can be seen, both for the immense quantity of materials thrown up by the fire, and for its spectacular duration: six years between 1730 and 1736 when the bowels of the island did not stop roaring.

This is a full day tour - and as per the other one taken with this company well organised and professionally run. The guide - Andrea was highly proficient in English - enthusiastic and capable of marshalling a bus load of visitors with ease. She made the day so enjoyable and the bus driver managed challenging roads with great skill. Well worth the time and money - and meant we beat the crowds to the caves which was great as they are very confined and difficult to negotiate in places - you need to be up for lots of steps in a dimly lit series of passages, very low in parts and uneven. The lunch stop provided a pretty straight forward meal for 10 euros - bit rushed but fine nonetheless and worth it. Didn’t do the camel ride but it seemed a bit short. Sure it was enjoyed by some! The drive through the national park was truly memorable and it felt like being on Mars. Felt a bit more time at the Cesar section where the lava tunnel met the sea would have been good as there are a series of very interesting and well laid out exhibits and displays which we had to rush at the end as we didn’t find them until we tried to find our way out. Would have happily skipped the wine stop - but again a matter of personal preference.

Absolutely brilliant! Very well organised. Guide so informative. A huge amount packed into day but not rushed. Lunch was good value for money. Would advise booking with Lanzarote Guides because we arrived at destinations before other tour groups making for a better experience. 100% would recommend this trip.

Très belle expérience,endroits magnifiques..à voir absolument ! Un peu long pour des ados, et parfois peu de temps pour faire des photos , il fallait faire vite.. Le chauffeur de bus Sébastian, était d une grande gentillesse et a conduit extrêmement bien.. Juste dommage que cette excursion n était pas proposée en français
