Experience Arctic Ice Fishing on this scenic 4 hour trip to Lake Inari. Local experienced guide, unique scenery and Lunch by open fire in warm lappish teepee will make your day memoriable. You will get warm thermal clothes and shoes in our office in Ivalo. From there we continue to a small village called Koppelo. Snowmobiles and sledges are waiting for you there, the journey starts to a secret fishing place. You can enjoy unique landscape while you travel in the comfort of a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile. Experienced guide will give you instructions for Ice Fishing. You will receive your own fishing rod and you can start fishing in a true Lappish style. You will use either a worm or a maggot to catch the fish. After fishing we will drive to a small island. We have there two friendly reindeers you can meet and feed. Lunch and hot drinks will be served in a warm lappish teepee with open fire. This is a great trip even if you are not so interested in fishing!

My husband and I had booked the ice fishing tour with Ivalo Safaris and we had the best time of our lives. We were picked up from our accommodation and then driven to the Ivalo Safari office. There we were given warm overall, snow boots, gloves and helmets, to prepare us for the sledge ride. This was followed by a short drive to Lake Inari from where we were taken into the frozen lake for the activity. Our guide Arto was super helpful and fun. He taught us how to drill a hole in the frozen lake, set a bait and wait to catch a fish. After fishing for a while, Arto took us back to a Teepee where he had prepared a scrumptious lunch over the fire. We ate delicious smoked reindeer soup, bread, sausages and cake! Arto also took us to their farm to meet reindeers and feed them lichen. Overall it was a wonderful experience and Arto was extremely accommodating of all requirements. We would strongly recommend this activity to anyone and everyone who wants to experience the Lappish wilderness in the midst of serenity and tranquility. It's also a great way to learn a lot about the popular Finnish activity of ice fishing. Don't forget to book it through Ivalo Safari and do ask for Arto!

Super journée ????Il faisait très froid mais notre guide s’est adapté (Anssi) et a fait un feu dans un tipi pour nous réchauffer. On a pu parler apprendre beaucoup de choses sur la Laponie/Finlande.On a également pu voir des Rennes et manger un lunch excellent. Super activité!

I had a wonderful experience my first time Ice fishing at Ivalo River Camping. The guide took me and a group of travelers to lake Inari where I learned how to carve holes into the Ice as well as enjoy the pure nature of the Laplands. I would reccomend this tour for other travelers that are looking for a unique experience that they will not see every day.
