Get a true taste of the American West on this excursion to Bar 10 Ranch! You'll depart from Las Vegas and soar over Lake Mead and alongside Hoover Dam en route to the Grand Canyon, where you'll land at a peaceful and secluded airstrip near Bar 10 Ranch on the canyon's North Rim, a less-visited part of the canyon that provides a unique vantage point of Grand Canyon National Park. At the ranch, you'll embark on a 4x4 tour through the landscape or you can upgrade to a thrilling ATV ride with multiple stops for photos. Only guests at Bar 10 Ranch have access to this area, so you can expect to have exclusive canyon views. After a day full of activity and sightseeing, a delicious homemade barbeque lunch will be waiting for you back at the ranch. Hotel pick-ups are generally 90 to 120 minutes prior to departure time depending on the hotel.

    If you selected the ATV option when booking, you'd explore the canyon rim on an all-terrain vehicle, following a guide along a 4x4 trail through Whitmore Canyon and Lake Mead Recreation Area. As you perch 3,000 feet (880 meters) above the Colorado River, admire the sheer drop of the canyon walls and soak up the incredible views. You can also spot the interesting desert vegetation and look for local wildlife. If you did not select the ATV option, you'd enjoy a guided Polaris Ranger tour to the canyon edge that includes multiple stops on the rim for photo ops. Only guests of Bar 10 Ranch have access to this area, so you can expect to have exclusive canyon views.

Views from the plane were amazing! Riley is a great pilot and very personable. Enjoyed the ATV ride and the young lad that led us was great but can’t recall his name. We chose to ride in the side by side instead of on our own four wheelers which turned out being a lot less dusty experience. If I had to name one part that was just average it would be the lunch. Good but nothing to write home about.

This was a highlight of our 5 day Vegas trip. Bar 10 Ranch and our tour guide for the 4x4 trip were great! It was hot in July, but we knew that going in. The thumb throttle on the 4x4 was tough, especially on the ride back in. The approx 2 hour trail was smooth in a few places, but mostly rocky and uneven. Water was provided at a couple stops along the way. Knowing that, we might have chosen the side by sides that also have a cover since there is no shade on the trail. At the end, lunch provided at the ranch was BBQ sandwiches, sides and lemonade. The small plane to and from was as expected about 45 min each way with optional headphones with music and narration. We had excellent views of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. The overall views of the Grand Canyon North Rim were good. I wonder if the other rims had better views. We had a problem with initial pickup time which was a communication issue between Viator and the pick up van. The print time was 7:15am pickup from the hotel. The time quoted when we called to confirm the day before was 6:45am pickup. On the day of the trip we got a call that they were leaving because we were not at the pick up point at 6:25am. After we called Viator, the van waited, but the issue and stress was avoidable. Overall, the trip was good. The ranch was really nice, with picturesque views. Overnight covered wagon options were available at the ranch. The overall value for this trip with flight, lunch and 4x4 ride was maybe a bit much at just under $600pp.

We had a fantastic day. The flight from Boulder city to Bar 10 ranch was awesome flying over the Hoover dam in an old De Haviland plane. The staff and facilities at the ranch were great. Had a wonderful drive down to the canyon rim with an informative guide. The lunch provided was great then another flight back to Boulder city. I would highly recommend it!
