Bei dem Anbieter Maxtour hatten wir online einen 6-stündigen Gruppenausflug zum Hoover Dam gebucht. D., unser sehr netter und freundlicher Guide, erschien pünktlich vor unserem Hotel und sammelte noch die anderen Gäste vor deren Unterkünften ein. Auch hatte er sowohl Getränke als auch Snacks (u.a. Chips) für uns alle dabei. Leider war ein Aufzug am Hoover Dam defekt, sodass weniger Touren in das Innere des Staudamms angeboten wurden. Wir hatten Tickets für 12:40 Uhr erhalten, doch fuhren schon um 12:00 Uhr wieder zurück nach Las Vegas, was uns an diesem Tag sehr ärgerte - und zwar so sehr, dass wir lange mit D. diskutierten und ihm am Ende auch kein Trinkgeld gaben. Wenn man extra einen Ausflug zum Staudamm bucht (inkl. Führung durch das Innere), ist man auch bereit, 40 Minuten länger bis zur Führung zu warten und dementsprechend später zurück im Hotel anzukommen. Die Krönung war aber dann, dass für das Innere des Staudamms zwar keine Zeit war, aber D. einen zusätzlichen Stop in Vegas beim „Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas Sign“ einlegte, das wir bereits am Vortag besucht hatten. Zudem kaufte D. für die Gruppe nur zwölf statt 13 Eintrittskarten, wodurch meinem Mann der Einlass verwehrt wurde. Eine andere Mitreisende aus den USA hat ihm dann freundlicherweise das Ticket gekauft und sich das Geld von D. zurückgeben lassen. Unser Fazit zum Hoover-Dam- Ausflug mit Maxtour: 3 Sterne (Die 3-Tages-Tour mit Maxtour zu den Nationalparks und Canyons mit dem Guide Ruben haben wir separat mit 5 Sternen bewertet. Hier wurden unsere Erwartungen deutlich übertroffen.)

We were picked up at our hotel by Phil, our guide, and went on to Hoover Dam. There were some changes at the Dam (an elevator was not working, so they had to take us in a different one), but Phil handled all the changes thrown at him with ease. It was a beautiful day and we got great pictures. We were dropped off back at our hotel at the end. Phil was knowledgeable and personable - we would recommend this tour to anyone!
