My husband and I booked a private tour with a driver to do both, a soft + an Olympics bobsleigh ride. Below is our experience:
1. PUNCTUALITY: The driver showed up at the lobby of our hotel 27 minutes late.
2. SAFETY: Then he tried to make it up and drove very fast in showy road conditions while simultaneously texting and navigating the Google map on his cellphone. It felt unsafe and in my country, it is illegal to work with your cell phone while driving.
3. A LONG DRIVE: It took 1 hour to get there and 1 hour to get back, no complaints here, just to let you know.
4. TIME PRESSURE: While at the bobsleigh place, he constantly rushed and hurried me up. I had to take my pictures on the go and felt tremendous time pressure.
5. DISREGARDING REQUESTS: I asked the driver to take a few horizontal videos (no pictures, please) on my cellphone and showed him how to do it, however, I mostly got a lot of pictures instead.
6. FAILED VIDEO: Just before the ride, I asked our driver to verify if my GoPro camera mounted on my helmet was recording. He confirmed it was recording. When the ride was over - I found out that the camera was not running and I did not record any videos of my soft bob ride.
7. SUCCESS: When we did an Olympic bobsleigh, I asked another person (who works there) to verify my camera and it was a success. I am thankful I got at least this video recorded.
8. PROFESSIONALISM: On the way back, our driver was talking on the phone with somebody about his personal business. It felt like we were intruding on his personal space and were a bother sitting in the back of his car.
Overall, I enjoyed the experience of the bobsleigh. But because we flew from another part of the world to enjoy the bobsleigh and booked a private tour, I expected a more pleasant and professional experience.
