  • Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Accra, Ghana
    Dedicated to the memory of the late Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the memorial park was built on a former British Polo field where Ghana's independence was declared in 1957. The Mausoleum is a magnificent Marble Monument and the last resting place of the first President of Ghana and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah. The park is a beautiful place to catch a glimpse of the beautiful grass, a fountain and a beautiful statue of the first president. The ambiance is refreshing and gives a feel of African culture, as it is surrounded by other beautiful sites such as Black star square, African market made of beautiful artefacts and African prints. It is along the coastal area where you see the local people by the sea shores going about their everyday activities.

The happiness and atmosphere at the square with it’s beautiful sights is amazing and worth experiencing.

It was a great time for us and the Kids. The tour guide was very pleasant and took time to explain key locations and places. We look forward to even a more elaborate tour next time we come to Ghana. Indeed it was a wonderful outing.
