Leipzig is a charming city in eastern Germany that is steeped in history, culture, and academia. A city tour of Leipzig should start with a visit to the Leipzig Market Square, which is the heart of the city. Here, visitors can see the iconic Old Town Hall and the towering St. Nicholas Church, which played a pivotal role in the fall of the Berlin Wall.
We will stroll down the cobblestone streets of the city's historic center, admiring the beautifully restored Renaissance buildings and Gothic churches. A must-see is the magnificent St. Thomas Church, where Johann Sebastian Bach served as a choir director and composed some of his most famous works.
Additionally, Leipzig is home to one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Germany, the University of Leipzig. Founded in 1409, the university has a rich history and has been home to many notable scholars, including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Nietzsche.

Superb tour with Matte - informative, relaxed and lots of fun. Really nice to meet other international visitors to Leipzig too. So much to learn about in this beautiful city and Matte was a perfect guide. Totally recommend.
