Discover the unique, original way of how medicinal ceremonies are presented in the BriBri culture. This will take place in the home or the shaman and here you´ll see how the medicinal plants are used. He will explain where every plant is helpful for and how this is used to heal someone. After the ceremony you´ll see the process of making cacao and enjoy an traditional meal. To end this extraordinary experience you´ll have a hike to the waterfall and have a refreshing swim.

Had an amazing experience. Was a really authentic experience, we learned so much about the local plants, culture, food. We connected with the local shaman. Made chocolate, ate. A gorgeous meal. It was a truly beautiful experience, I made some good friends and a swim in the Bri Bri waterfall at the end topped it. If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience then I couldn’t recommend enough!

Estuve mes y medio en Puerto Viejo, e hice muchos tours con diferentes empresas, dos de esos tours fueron con Life, Culture, Travel. La empresa me pareció de las mejores en cuanto a organización, trato y calidad humana. Los guías, conductores, boteros, familias visitadas en las comunidades, todxs tuvieron un trato genial y permitieron no solo que tuviera unas experiencias muy bonitas, sino también me permitieron aprender un montón de cosas sobre el pueblo bribri. Tirza, la fundadora de la empresa, es una mujer increíble: super preparada, sumamente comprometida -con las comunidades, con las familias, con su pueblo- inteligente y super simpática. Muchas gracias a todas las personas que contribuyeron a que mi experiencia en Puerto Viejo fuera todo lo bonita que fue!!

Terca was our guide for this day of visiting a BriBri community to learn about their traditions. She was wonderful, as were all of the BriBri people that we met. Lisandro, the Awa (shaman/doctor) for the community was so generous in sharing his wisdom and he performed a purification ceremony for our group that was beautiful and calming. Rosa and her family showed us many medicinal plants, had us participate in making chocolate, and served us a delicious lunch. Her children were simply delightful. To cap off the day, Terca took us to a gorgeous waterfall where we swam. I highly recommend Terca and her company. You'll have a great day and learn a lot!
