An in-depth look at the history and politics of the Golden Age, and some of the hidden history of the Sephardic and Moorish people who contributed to Portugal’s greatness. Daniel was an extremely knowledgeable and responsive guide, and went out of his way to provide information, answer questions, and discuss all aspects of Lisbon’s history. I appreciated the opportunity to visit Belem ( and enjoy the famous custard tart from the bakery there) , as well as looking behind the colourful surface of Alfama. I would recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in the politics and history of Portugal, who is looking for more than a glib travelogue
