Find out about Lisbon’s great Cafés, such as the 18th-century Café Nicola. You will know more about Portugal’s café-culture. Try the famous Codfish Cake with a glass of Green Wine. Get to know about the historical center. Take a look at the products at an old gourmet shop, from dried, salted Bacalhau to the sausages, hams and cheeses. Learn the history of Port, Portugal’s fortified wine, and then try it with the delicious São Jorge Cheese. Visit one of the most famous Tascas in Lisbon, where you´ll taste a typical Bifana watered down with a cold draft beer. Learn the history of Ginjinha and try it at the first place that started to sell it in 1840. Climb the hills of Lisbon and enjoy one of the most fantastic views of the city. Finish your tour with Chouriço, Portuguese bread and other local products served with a glass of delicious red wine.

    This tour will introduce you to the Portuguese cuisine and its incredible mix of Mediterranean traditions and exotic influences from all corners of the World. Bring your appetite because the next 3 hours will be full of good flavors. Have the true local experience of sipping Ginginha and learn the meaning of “with or without?”. Indulge in the most beloved Lisbon snack, known all over the country as Bifana, while you learn how to ask for a draft beer in Portuguese. Taste some of the main Portuguese traditional snacks, appetizers and wine passing by on local taverns, groceries shop and venues of Lisbon. Intimate experience with a local guide and maximum of 14 people per group. Avoid the stress of driving in the narrow streets of Lisbon, parking or waiting for public transport.

Daniel was fantastic. We learned so much on the tour, and he made every effort to answer every question we had. He’s a true local and a very nice guy. Even a musician! Highlight of our Lisbon/Sintra trip.

The guide was knowledgeable and shared local and country history as it related to the foods tasted. Distances walked were reasonable. We were able to try local foods that we were curious about. Overall fun was had by everyone.

My family had a wonderful time on the tour, including our two teenagers. Our guide Joana was the perfect person to lead this tour. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the culture and history and infused the whole tour with amazing context. Joana really made the history come alive. She took us places we would have never know to go. The tour was amazing and I would highly recommend. At the end of the tour our son said enthusiastically that it was the best thing we have done in Lisbon, high praise coming from a teenager! We would definitely do another tour with Inside Lisbon, a great experience!
