The landscape is marked by the seasons of the year with intense colour and by the forest and the Lezíria (low lands), fertilized by the Sorraia River, a tributary of the Tagus. It is an essentially agricultural territory based on the richness of its fertile land and the exploitation of the water ways of the Sorraia River, providing the base for the traditional irrigation crops of rice, corn, tomato and more recently, market vegetables. All of these products are marketed internationally. The cork oak forest is a clear example of renewal and sustainable exploitation, making this territory very special. Due to the concentration of cork oak forests here, industry research and development of the cork sector, the municipality supplies about 8% of Portugal’s cork a world leader in the sector. Coruche supplies 5 million cork stoppers per day to the world … This explains why Coruche proudly holds the title of Cork Capital of the World.

  • Subject to the confirmation of a minimum number of passengers (except for exclusive flights) and favorable weather conditions, possible to be canceled at the last minute and postponed for safety reasons. All flights are confirmed by email until 20 hours before.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

A hot air balloon is a beautiful experience to have if you get the opportunity sadly that might be a bit of a challenge if you’re going with Windpassenger.pt. Clearly my €750 was not enough for Windpassenger to communicate with me when I desperately needed to talk to them to clarify important information. I had tried to call them on all numbers available to me along with numerous emails, but sadly to no avail. Without confirmation from Windpassenger it would have cost me an extra €160 in taxi fares due to to pick-up point being an hour outside of Lisbon. I guess good customer service is not so paramount for this company and this is why I award only one star.

The day before we had to go there suddenly were some doubts. Both afraid of heights, should we really do this? But we totally did. Guido is a great pilot and the experience wasn't scary at all. We floated through a part of Portugal, enjoying the sunset and views not feeling anxious but instead a sense of total serenity. If you have any doubts, don't! Just go and enjoy!!!
