Full Day Kayak&Coasteering Adventure

From start to finish, João’s energy was uplifting and enthusiastic. He was patient and informative. We were supplied with everything we needed to get the full experience, fed, satiated and entertained. I 100% would recommend your first kayaking experience to be with João.

Honestly joão was the best guide anyone could ask for. He’s not just an amazing guide but also an amazing human being. From the pickup point when he saw us from the distance he was excitedly waving at us. He warned us that there was a storm coming beforehand as well and ask if we could schedule our trip to a day with better weather because I was worried but unfortunately we could not but nevertheless he still came with excitement and full of energy even though it’s just me and my girlfriend. Inside the van he was telling us jokes and making us laugh, not only that he still talked about the history and landscape of Portugal which was really fascinating. He dropped us off at his headquarters and provided us items to use for the trip which was great because we do not need to worry too much about equipment. When we arrived there was stronger than usual waves but he navigated the kayak PERFECTLY. Honestly with him as my guide and the waves today I felt an excitement that I could not describe. Not only that he is very familiar with the caves by the ocean and let us know very informative knowledge. The coastering was really fun too. I was really scared at first but he managed to guide me up and down perfectly. After that he got us lunch with his homemade olive oil which was great and his homemade soup which was equally as good. Before lunch we had snacks as well, cheese and jam sandwich. Honestly the best snack I’ve had in a while. He even offered us homemade wine which was delicious. And don’t worry if you think you won’t have enough to eat because he packs A LOT A LOT of food. After this adventure we went back to the headquarters and took a shower and this is honestly the best shower facilities as he provided hot water, shampoo, conditioner and body wash all branded. Before we left back to Lisbon we drank his homemade moonshine, wine and strawberry juice fresh from his vineyard. Then on the ride back after a whole day of adventure João’s spirit did not fade a single bit entertaining us all the way and giving us tips on where to eat and drink in Lisbon. Honestly the best guide anyone could ask for a genuine person with a pure heart and full of energy. After he dropped us off and waved goodbye I felt a sense of “post adventure depression” as my girlfriend and I loved and enjoyed the tour and João so so much. Sorry if this review is a bit long but this is how good of a tour guide and person he is. Without a doubt I would immediately book with him again the next time I’m in Lisbon. I hope everyone would book with him and experience what my girlfriend and I felt during our time with him you won’t regret it. And also I am not a paid reviewer I wrote this much because I enjoyed him a little bit too much????????.

João is an oracle when it comes to Arrabida and an absolute pleasure to talk to. Being naturally skeptical, I thought the overwhelming 5 stars reviews about a tour guide were overplaying it since I’ve never had a tour guide this special. João gave me and my friend an absolutely unforgettable experience, would give this 7 stars if I could. He even found my glasses when I dropped them in the ocean. Absolute gem of a tour guide, and gem of a location.
