The last session of the day begins at 6pm; after this, visitors will no longer be able to enter the museum. In Quake you can relive the impressive earthquake that devastated the city - reproduced by a simulator in a safe environment, with video mapping and special effects. Through interactive stations you will also understand the origin of earthquakes and tsunamis and better understand why Lisbon was destroyed in 1755.

    On November 1, 1755, a great earthquake shook the city of Lisbon, which destroyed the city and paved the way for a new era in urbanism, welfare and philosophy that spread throughout Europe. Travel back in time and relive this day through simulators, video mapping and interactive technology that takes you back to the day of the earthquake. On your journey, you will also learn and experience some of the great earthquakes in history, from San Francisco to Tokyo. Located in one of the most historic areas of the city, Belém, Quake is much more than a fun history lesson, it's a unique immersive experience that's ideal for the whole family.

    Coming here as two adults I was slightly concerned reading other reviews that this might be aimed more at children. We didn’t think this at all. We arrived early for our pre-booked time slot and managed to get into an earlier one which was very helpful. Of the group we were put with there was only one child and it’s safe to say all adults really enjoyed this. We found it to be a very unique and engaging museum. We learned so much about the devastating earthquake. The way the museum flows keeps your interest right to the end. The staff were excellent, explaining everything in different languages. A great experience.

    We were really pleasantly surprised with our visit at Lisbon Quake last week. We organized our visit for a group of almost 50 students from Breda University of applied sciences in the Netherlands and it was a wonderful experience. Ofcourse it is really sad that this has happened in 1755 but we think that the awareness they created with this experience is really good. It is so impressive how they created Lisbon Quake and how they make everything feel so real. Expect the unexpected!! If I could give the people who are doubting of going one tip, it would definitely be to just go and discover it yourself. Even the lecturers of our group enjoyed it and still have learned some new things. Another really well thought of matter is that everything is not just in Portuguese but also in English, Spanish and French. So almost anyone could join the experience!

    Um pouco da história do terramoto de Lisboa de 1775. Várias salas, mas tempo reduzido em cada uma delas. Valor de entrada muito elevado, mesmo para escolas. Não é qualquer pessoa que pode pagar. A repensar.
