On this tour we'll discover Lisbon's most elegant and trendy neighborhoods: Principe Real, Bairro Alto and Chiado.
A traditional tram will help us to reach Principe Real and Bairro Alto. In this bohemian area we’ll discover charming streets, squares and belvederes, unique shops and food spots. After being dazzled by an incredible “treasure church” we'll start to descend towards Chiado, the famous cultural and literary district, and also, the most vivid shopping area since the 19th century. At any time of the day you’ll find here a lively cosmopolitan ambience, where people like to meet just for a coffee, shopping or dinner before a night out. It was already like that during the Belle Époque period, as this was the theater district, with the most nice shops, clubs and cafes where writers, intellectuals and artists use to meet and get inspiration. That was the case of the vibrant writer Eça de Queiroz and, later, the wonderful poet Fernando Pessoa.

Maria was fantastic. She is well educated and highly knowledgeable about the history of every site. She was patient, friendly, and thoughtful. We would book any trip where she is the guide.

Maria was a great guide and being from Lisbon showed in her knowledge of the history. I would highly recommend as a tour for an overview of the center of the city.
