Trekking Mt. Rinjani 2 Days 1 Night Senaru Crater Rim

We made the trip up to the mount rinjai for the first time and strarted picking up at lombok international airport ( BIL) and were brought before the trekking rinjai from the village of senaru and stayed or spent the night in senaru and tomorrow we will start climb 7hours -+ get to the crater so we can enjoy the scenery very extraordinary , lake ,summit , sun rises and lies on the other side and then the morning return to the village or Rinjani Excellent company Get it service , new tent, tick matras , sleeping bag , fillow , camping chir & good foods .

Could not have asked for a better company to arrange my trip. As the title states, I AM NOT a hiker; the closest thing I've hiked was a hill in my backyard. However, I decided to challenge myself and I do not regret it one bit. I researched and called over 20 companies on a whim and Rinjani Excellent was able to accommodate EVERYTHING I needed. I ended up choosing the 3 Day 2 Night package. It included private transportation to and from the Senaru village (base village). Now, onto the climb -- it physically and mentally challenged me every single step but boy oh boy am I glad I did it. I am a solo traveler and was paired with three others who I can now call lifelong friends. The porters and the guides that the company provided us were the most gracious and funny locals I've met on my trip. I know this sounds like it's too good to be true but this is an excellent company that offered me the best rates along with an unforgettable experience I will never forget.

So before I start my review I want to say that i really recommend a trek with Rinjani Excellent!! Advice: Don’t book any tours in different cities then Senaru or straight via a homepage of a trekking provider. If you book it for example in kuta the guys will allways charge you a lot more then if you book directly at the trekking company! Don’t be hestitate to book a trek with Rinjani Trekking because of less reviews than other or bigger companies. Every company starts somewhen small :-) We were thinking the same way at the beginning and we were not sure if 15 reviews are enough for a meaningful impression. But they are and they have not groundless 5 stars at the moment. The bigger companies are just more expensive but do not provide you for sure a better experience. From the first contact to Rinjani Excellent (RE) we had a good feeling about them. Suti the owner was longtime a guide and now started his own company. So he is experienced and tries to offer the best for his customers. Sam was one the guides and kinda a Assistent of Suti. He was very friendly and funny, we had a lot of fun with him. We were chatting with RE via WhatsApp in very good English and they were really willing to answer every question and fullfill our wishes. If it was the pickup or the equipment. There was never a problem. We didn’t have warm jackets with us or flashlights or backpack. So we asked them and they could provide us everything. We made privat 2D1N trek from Senura to the crater rim. The price was really fair it included everything we needed. A privat pickup at a time we choose from Kuta, a nice homestay with a very nice view and one day before the trek and a small trek to the waterfalls in Senura (stunning waterfalls). Then all the equipment we needed (advice: ask for what you need) two porters and a guide and also the entrance fee for Rinjani. Even when we had trouble booking our flight back to Bali the tried to help us. At this time the speedboats were not running because of too strong waves, so every flight was fully booked and we had to change our plans. So we asked Suti and Sam if it’s possible that they make our transfer a day later and to the Lembar Harbour instead of the Airport or Bangsal Harbour and even this was no problem and they tried to help us!l So about the trek. We wanted to do a 2D1N trek starting from senaru, because it’s the trek through the jungle and we didn’t like to trek in the sun (starting from sembulan). So we had to do a private tour cause there a not many or maybe even no shared treks starting from Senura. The trek was not easy but viable. We are not the best trekkers and not really in shape, but we managed it to do it. First day round about 8h up, second day ~5h down. Our guide was Eric. He was a nice and gentle calm guy. He had always a eye on us and didn’t run away. So we could walk our pace. He cared good about us and provided us water, energy booster, chocolate bars, ionic drinks. Our porters cooked very nice meals for us (see the picture). Fried vegetables, Curry, fried Banana, Pancakes, Anannas. We really have to honor the porters for the hard work they did. Went up and down with all the weights. When they arrived at a checkpoint they started directly with cooking without taking a break. Respect for them! Thanks to the guys of Rinjani Excellent.
