Attended the Metropole hotel, Cork City. Great entertainment and service. Only down fall I was charged €3 for a pint of cordial. Have no prob in paying for it, but that is to expensive

My husband loves Fawlty Towers and this experience was absolutely brilliant. The actors were brilliant.

We went on Easter Sunday to celebrate my husbands birthday. The actors were excellent and played the parts very well. We were kept amused. However, I could only describe the food as mediocre. The dessert was like a cheap supermarket bought item (think Sarah Lee). We had scarcely got the last morsel into our mouths when they started clearing the tables and said they had to prepare for the evening performance. This was at 3:30 pm as we attended the matinee. I always like to have a coffee after my meal and it would have been nice to have a chat with the other pleasant guests who were seated at our table. When a lady at our table asked about coffee she was told that the coffee machine was broken but we could purchase coffee elsewhere in the building. This member of staff again reiterated that they had to clear the tables for the evening performance. I felt we were being hurried out of the place and this left me with a sour feeling. We would only have stayed perhaps 15-20 minutes enjoying a coffee and chat. Overall it was enjoyable but did not represent good value for money.
