London Panoramic Open Top Bus Tour with Audio Guide

We thought we were on a non stop bus but twasn't the case!! On the whole, very enjoyable and informative. A couple of French speakers were in our group - they felt the audio wasn't brilliant - lots of music and they gave up with it early on. For us, we had experienced tour guide Andy who tbh was superbly entertaining and hilarious ad libbing and involving the passengers as the bus crawled round some parts [St Paul's especially slow...]. There's only a very limited view/glimpse of Buckingham Palace from the bus...if I was to repeat the trip, I'd get off the bus there to have a decent look round. Our French speakers would have really appreciated this and I hadn't appreciated how close that stop was to the London Eye start/end point

We were rather disappointed by the open top, hop on-hop off London, bus tour with Golden Tours. While we did have a couple very nice drivers, our dissatisfaction with other things overshadowed the experience. The headphones on board (although individually packaged) were dirty upon opening the package and we received no direction how to use the system so my daughter thought it was just music that played. I'm still unsure if there was tour info on a different channel or not, so instead we strained to hear what info was being shared over low grade, quiet speakers here and there throughout the bus. Maybe it was easier to hear inside, but we were up top and it was impossible to hear. Later in the afternoon we waited nearly 45 mins for a 'blue line' bus to come to our stop, all the while being passed multiple times by other bus companies (some of them even two or three times). When the bus finally arrived, it slowed down a little behind another bus and before stopping completely and opening the door, it pulled around the bus and completely avoided stopping at the stop at all and carried on up the street. We were DUMBFOUNDED!! We waited another 15-20 mins for another bus (the red line), and told that driver what had happened. He was also shocked. We wasted far too long waiting to be picked up, only to be passed all together, and that limited what we could see in the time we had remaining. After we got to our next location we opted to take the tube instead. In addition, we often found walking from one point to the next, faster than staying on the bus. However that is no fault of the tour company, just London traffic. Just something to consider when deciding if the hop on-hop off bus is what you want to do. I do think they're worth it, if you can hear the commentary. A live person would be better than a recording, and louder sound system would be better. Also a tour company that has more frequent buses and drivers that actually stop to let you on. Golden tours was an award winning company and so we thought they'd be good. Sadly, we were disappointed and frustrated.

Très belle visite, malgré les embouteillages, mais bon, c’est Londres ! Le bus était facile à trouver pour l’aller. Dommage qu’il nous ait laissé au retour à un autre endroit qu’à l’aller.
