We were in London for about 5 days prior to taking a cruise from Southampton up to Norway. We had a great time and packed a lot in without feeling rushed, which we hate. We stayed near Victoria Station which put us in easy walking or train/tube distance from everything we saw. We checked into our hotel early and walked to Westminster Abbey and purchased a ticket on the spot. We stayed for a sung evensong service which was amazing. We spent the next day at the Warner Brothers studio, tickets bought in advance enjoying a delicious and filling high tea service, also ticked in advance. It was great! Next day we visited the Houses of Parliament with a lunch in their cafe. We then headed over to the very lively Covent Garden for dinner and a delightful ballet. My husband had never been to one and thought it was great, honestly. The next day we went to The Globe and caught a very funny Shakespearean play with a lunch at their cafe. Then we walked over to St Pauls Abbey to catch a concert. The last day we caught the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and an early dinner at a new trendy place before heading off to see "Hamilton"." Unlike New York, the ticket prices for the show were reasonable. We'd been in London a number of times before but there is always something you haven't seen. It was busier than we expected but we did get tickets in advance for most things, and this is easy to do online.
