  • The ceremony can be altered at any time at the discretion of the British Army. In the event of bad weather the British Army may decide to do a 'Wet Change' which is a shortened version of the Changing of the Guard ceremony without any music.
  • This tour does not go to the front gates of Buckingham Palace. No tours go to the front gates due to crowds and because you won't see much! This award winning tour will take you around the Palaces for the best views of the guards and the ceremony. If you wish to go to the front gates of Buckingham Palace then this is not the tour for you.
  • For security reasons, the police request that no suitcases (big or small) be brought to the Royal Palaces. Please arrange storage for these prior to joining the tour. Handbags and Small Backpacks are welcome and can be brought on the tour.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour begins to check-in with your guide

My wife had heard about people who provide free guided tours and found this tour by See The Sights Tour. This was by far one of the best decisions we made while visiting London. As much as it was a cold, wet, and windy day, there were a doznen travelers there for the tour. Mike, the owner of the company was our tour guide and he was fantastic. You might think with free, you get what you pay for. I beg to differ. This was one of the most entertaining, educational, and interesting tours that I have ever been on. Mike has a comprehensive knowledge of London, the royal family and all of the historical sights along the way. What I loved about this tour, is he pointed out things we would have never noticed had we been exploring the city on our own. The tour lasted about 3 hours which sounds like a long time but it went by very quickly. As the name states, it is a walking tour, know that you will be walking quite a bit. My wife and I are in our mid-50's but had no issue keeping up with the pace. I definitely recommend wearing comfortable shoes and being dressed appropriately because we were outside the entire time. As much as it is a FREE tour and Mike didn't make a big deal about tips. I actually think he should of made a bigger point about this as many people didn't give him any money for his time and expertise. We decided we would have easily paid $30 each for a tour like this so we gave Mike 50 pounds at the end of the tour. We had such a great experience that the following morning we showed up for Mike's Royal Guard tour. This is a MUST and we were so glad we had Mike again. Check my other review here on Tripadvisor.

If you have an interest in the Royal Family then you'll love this tour as it covered a lot of the history, sites and events particularly in recent times. The guide also gave us a sneak peek in some of the shops the royals use and we were even able to get a little souvenir gift in one of them which was a real treat.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and interactive with enthuisiasm and the tour itself was long enough to explore much around a lot of the famous buildings & landmarks around.
