It was terrible. A midern art monstrosity was erected and obscured the view. It was a complete waste of time as you go see the magnificent ceiling and arch and most of it was hidden away.

The whole area around this part of Greenwich is an oasis of calm away from the crowds and busy streets of central London, definitely visit via the water taxi, you get to see some lovely buildings on the waters edge and a different view of Canary Wharf. Apart from the builds and large information Centre there's not a lot to see, the great hall is quite spectacular, however the grounds and eating areas make the visit worthwhile. Also take a short walk into Greenwich, there is a small but interesting market with plenty of more eating options (possibly weekends only, but check) Cutty Sark is also docked here and for an additional charge you can walk under and through the ship. Overall a lovely morning trip with the added treat of sailing under tower bridge if taking the uber from further up the Thames

The Royal Naval College buildings are all Open today! Get to the main open space facing the river and find a desk where you can register today for the Open House guided tours of the Old Naval College buildings. Tours take about 30 mins.
We visited the Queen Mary Court by a less well known architect, and learnt they subdivided the building into small rooms the pensioned off sailors would feel comfortable in. So an interesting history of a designer learning on the job what the client needs!
The two staircases are really worth going to see; both cantilevered and one is oval. They are as unique as the tulip staircase int he Queen's House, also worth a visit.
