The Gentle Author is a true gentleman who grabs and holds your attention from the start . He has beautifully and lovingly curated this tour . He sets the area in its historical context and compares then with now . He loves the area and , above all , he loves to set the area and buildings in the context of the people , so this tour is inhabited by the lives of real people . Absolutely wonderful. Anybody who follows the Gentle Author’s website will know how assiduously he researches and then brings history to life with beautiful prose . Verily , I say , go on this tour

Conducted by someone who lives locally and knows the area intimately, incredible photography and art are used as part of the storytelling as we were whipped around hidden streets in the spirit of adventure and discovery. This tour has a deep respect for the people and stories beneath the surface. Stories are regaled with humanity and wit by someone who genuinely loves Spitalfields, this will be unlike anything you've ever experienced.
