The Veado Verde / Green Deer challenges you to live an experience in the Lousa Mountain. Come with us and watch deer exhibit natural behaviour in the wild. We will walk in forests of pines, chestnut trees, oaks and beeches where we can also find wild boars, foxes and squirrels. It´s a wonderful and rewarding experience that includes offroad activities, hiking and visiting the shale villages.  It's a 4 hour tour with Coimbra as the pickup point. Get ready, the beauty of this mountain will leave you amazed! IMPORTANT: Feel safe, we have the "Clean & Safe" seal from Turismo de Portugal!

    4x4 and hiking tour watching wild deer, boars, foxes, squirrels in the Lousa mountain. We will walk in forests of pines, chestnut trees, oaks, and beeches.The tour passes also in some abandoned and restored shale villages that we will visit.

    Gondramaz is a completely restored shale village with about 50 houses where there is a tourist resort and where we will have a coffee.

  • Aldeias do Xisto, Lousa, Portugal
    Cadaval Cimeiro and Cadaval Fundeiro are two abandoned shale villages that burned twice in the 1980s. There we will hike between the two.

The views from the top of the mountain were beautiful. We saw fox and many deer. The schist village was amazing! The guide, Alfredo was friendly and knowledgeable. It was obvious that he loved showing off his homeland.

This is a great tour for people who like to get out of the city and into the mountains. We saw deer and wild boar. The scenery is spectacular, the vehicle is comfortable and the guide is knowledgeable. Was fun to go off road in the forest and walk a little. The drive to the mountain takes about 40 minutes. Remember it’s a wild area, not a zoo, so seeing the animals is not guaranteed!

A very enjoyable visit, and a very kind host. Indeed we managed tonsee a number of deers. The views ate beautyful, the forest enchanting, the food very special. Thank you Alfredo!
