This is a long day of driving, and, unlike other operators, we are realistic about the timing. You really do need to leave early in the morning to see the lemurs still active. But, if you do not have time to overnight, it is the only way to see wild lemurs within driving distance of Antananarivo. Our team are specialist English-speaking driver / guides, who travel with English-speaking clients all year. Once you arrive in Andasibe, the visit will totally absorb you in the amazing nature of Madagascar until your return to Antananarivo. Schedule of tour: 05:30 depart Antananarivo 09:30 enter Analamazaotra National Park (2.5 hour visit) 12:00 transfer to Vakona Hotel to visit Lemurs Island 13:00 lunch at Vakona Restaurant (menu of the day) (if available - may be substituted for a different restaurant, or, a picnic) food only, no drinks included. 14:00 transfer to Moramanga to Peyrieras Reserve 15:00 leave Peyrieras to return to Tana 19:00 arrive at your hotel in Antananarivo

    This reserve will give you an eye-opening view of Madagascar's diminishing highland rainforests. Here you will witness the Indri-indri, the biggest of the lemurs, and the Diademed Sifaka, one of the most beautiful lemurs, in wild habitat.

    Here you will have an unclose and personal experience with lemurs in a semi-captive situation, on the amazing Vakona Reserve Lemur's Island. You will see a number of species and the lemurs will not be snobbish, they will sit right on your shoulders, should you wish. An extraordinary experience for young and old.

  • Reserve Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic, Marozevo, Madagascar
    Here you will see the amazing reptiles of Madagascar, the incredible chameleons will catch insects with their long tongues before your very eyes, a true spectacle of nature. This reserve has many other animals, in well kept captivity, such as tenrecs, frogs, and many types of geckos. Here you will also see the giant comet moth of Madagascar.

My guide, Mr Gideona, was both an exceptional driver but helpful beyond what was expected. A lovely person. The drive to the park was in itself an experience and education. The visit in the parks and reserve was brilliant.

We booked this 2 days before arriving in Madagascar since the quarantine was lifted and we had two extra days. We put a call out on Tripadvisor for things to do from Tana and they suggested this trip (so did many others) so we booked it. Due to the timing, there was no way to pay the deposit so it was all done on the honor system which was appreciated. Excellent service from pickup to drop off. They even talked to our hotel security guard to see if he would escort us to a dinner location and back. They provided great information, were understanding of our jet lag and need for a short nap between tours and even helped us order a variety of items at lunch so we could try all the local cuisine. I would highly recommend this trip and this company!

Even though 1 day is seldom sufficient for experiencing East central Andasibe region of this vast and mystic island nation, if you are time strapped like us, speak little to no French or Malagasy for that matter, then this tour should be a no brainer. In a short window of time (8 hours plus drive time from Tana) Dadamanga is able to pack an agenda with so much variety like 1. Get to see this beautiful rainforest that involves a moderate hike, 2. Sotting and getting a flavor of lemurs and their colonies/communities in wild over there, 3. Experiencing a whole slew of lemurs (landing on your shoulders and taking off from there) in a semi wild Vakona Private reserve island, and 4. Coming across lemurs in the wild at Peyrieras reserve as well as getting up close and personal with some of the wildest native creatures of Madagascar including some wild Chameleons, snakes, frogs, insect/moth species at Peyrieras - This all goes fast but is worth the time, money and effort. Be ready, be fit (workout before you arrive) and Dadamanga personally, professionally takes care of the rest right from pickup at hotel in Tana early in the morning, all the fees to reserves, lunch and drop you off at Tana at your hotel in the night. Did I mention the lunch at Vakona - what a heavenly treat!! Thanks Dadamanga.
