There were just the two of us on the tour, so we got a really personalised experience. Our guide Lurdes was wonderful, mixing history, places and other facts about Funchal with life in Madeira. Highlight was the market. The tour finished with a wine tasting.

Very informative walking tour,We have been to Funchal many times,but still learned a lot with our guide,Luis.We covered a lot in 2 hours,and found the tour to be excellent value for money.

Although I say I wouldn't recommend this 'experience' in the name of fairness we didn't actually get the full tour. After agreeing to change the day from Friday to the Saturday because of staffing issues, it soon became apparent (and confirmed by the company later) Our guide, pleasant as he was, didnt usually do this tour (and was not very informative or a loud speaker.) Half way round we were told we wouldn't be able to do the tour and tasting at 'Blandys' because they were fully booked. (Admin Blunder)Instead we were taken to 'Doliveiras.' to do some tasting there which lasted about 30 minutes. I will point out we were given a refund for the cost of Blandys non tour. While I appreciate the company were trying to fulfil there obligation the Blandys visit was a big part of the tour which we missed. I would like to think when done properly this would be a good tour but for us it was a waste of time and money and I wish I had cancelled.
