    Continuing to East of Funchal, revealing a tiny seaside village known as Garajau, but first a quick stop at one of the most mesmerizing viewpoints, named by locals as “Pináculo”. This viewpoint can be found in the street, Rua Conde Carvalhal. It lies 283 meters above sea level, and it has one of the most breathtaking views of the bay of Funchal.

  • Miradouro do Cristo Rei do Garajau, Portugal
    Arriving at one of Madeira’s wonders, a small town called Garajau, where the statue of the “Cristo Rei” can be found. This monument and its spectacular views are one of the main attractions in this small town. Cristo Rei´s statue was built back in 1927 and it was completed four years before the famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil. This monument is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ and is the magnificent work of French sculptor Georges Serraz.

  • Garajau Partial Nature Reserve, Canico, Portugal
    After watching the beautiful sights from above the sea, the tuk-tuk tour will continue in the direction of the sea level where the Garajau´s natural reservation is at. The reserve was established, back in 1986 and is positioned in the south coast of the island. Epinephelus Guaza (Mero), is one of the largest fish that can be found at the park but, is also important to mention that this natural reserve is a protected area making it forbidden to catch fish there. Not only fishing is forbidden here, but also navigating in these waters, which are highly controlled by the navy patrol. Although, these waters can be explored if in one is in the mood for some skin-diving. The Garajau natural reserve is not only known for its crystalline waters, but also for its biological richness, undeniably a space worth all its protection.

What a nice visit of Funchal we experienced today! Andrea was the perfect guide for us, she knows a lot about her island, in particularly about Funchal. The tuk tuk is very confortable and Andrea is a very good and experienced driver. We loved it!

Tukway personalized tour of Funchal and Christ--King was one of the best tour I've ever take. Our driver & guide, Luis, was so informative. He really took the time to explain the history of everything and made an effort to go at our pace. It was much appreciated especially since I have a bad knee and move a bit slow. We enjoyed the tour so much we just booked the Cabo Girão - Skywalk for tomorrow with them. Obrigada Luis & Tukway!
