This was an incredibly fun evening, and I came away with lots of knowledge under my (very full) belt. There was no shortage of wine on this tour, and the food was excellent. I don't eat dairy, and while one stop featured a huge cheese platter, I still had plenty of options. (And I appreciate that my food intolerance wasn't an issue!) I'm not sure if I could choose a favorite bite, but I loved the spicy potatoes and also the steak at the last place visited. Another highlight was the blind tasting. Our group was served two mystery wines - the only clue was that one was Rioja and another was Ribera. Then, the guide listed the characteristics of each type of wine. We tasted away, and then voted on what we thought each one was. This tour was the perfect way to explore Madrid's Literary Quarter. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about wine, and she did a great job explaining how and what to order. (Now I know to start my Spanish dinners off with a vermouth - preferably with an olive or two!)

I very much enjoyed this tapas and history tour of Madrid. I think the tour is a great option for couples and travellers who want to try a bit of everything. My wife and I got to try different types of wines (vermouth, white, red) and eight or nine different tapas at three taverns in the historic center. The taverns all had some history and a good ambience. I thought the amount of food and drink was more than enough, and I liked that the heavier tapas were saved for last. There was some fun 'interactivity' too (like preparing your own vermouth or trying to identify the red wines by region). The area that the tour takes place in (Barrio Letras) was very charming and old-timey. The guide did a good job at giving us some background information about the history of the place and of the taverns in the area.

Super fun tour where you get to learn a lot about Spanish wine, while pairing it with amazing food. Not only that, but you also get to learn about Spanish culture and history. If you are a wine and food lover, this tour is a MUST. Cant believe I have been fooled all these years thinking french wine is better than Spanish wine..!!
