The Church of the Immaculate Conception was built by the Muslims in 836, being converted into a Christian church after the conquest, when a Moorish-style tower was added in 1510. From almost any point of the village you can see the white chapel of Calvary, located at a somewhat higher level. Mijas is such a delightful Spanish town. Just love visiting this place. Lots of restaurant s and shops. Gardens up by the bullying is a must visit Ice cream shops are so lovely too.

Mijas is a beautiful town and was one of the high points of our trip to Spain. We enjoyed the breathtaking views,the rich history, the people and the delicious food. Out tour guide Silvina was personable, knowledgeable, and she held our interest during the entire tour. Even our teenage children were fascinated with the the rich history and the customs of the town. We definitely would visit Mijas again!!
