This tour is done by a small team of 4 historians that want to make people aware of how fast things can change! Learn about the origins and early years of Hitler on a 2.5-hour walking tour of historic Vienna. On this tour, you will hear the History of Austria and Europe from 1900 until 1955. Alongside your guide, you'll find out the answer to the following questions: How did an Austrian postcard painter turn into the world’s most hated man? Where could Hitler and Stalin have met? Plus, you'll see the scars of World War II and visit the only synagogue to survive the Holocaust. Take a deeper look into the darkest days of Vienna’s history.

But than after 1938 everything changed including the cultural life in Vienna changed.After the "Anschluss" of Austria, Adolf Hitler visited the State Opera on June 19 and October 27, 1938. The period of National Socialism saw the departure, persecution and murder of artists and employees. For several works there was a ban on performance.

    The "Seitenstettentempel" is hidden behind a tenement building. The main synagogue of Vienna is located at Seitenstettengasse 4. According to the regulations in force at that time, non-Catholic places of worship had to be hidden and could not be visible from the street. Therefore, the synagogue stands behind a five-story apartment building. Above the entrance gate of the street building is the inscription: "Come to his gates with thanksgiving, to his courts with praise!" on this tour you will visit also other places, we have just added to list the main attractions.

This was a perfect introduction to the relationship between Hitler and Vienna. The tour guide was a historian with extensive knowledge to share. Highly recommend if that’s what you want to know about. Also a great opportunity to see some of the best sights in Vienna.

Was much more than a tour - It was more of an educational walk, passing by and stopping at many of the locations related to WWII and the rise of Hitler's power. Learned how he came to power which sadly drew parallels to what's happening in places today. Very much worth doing.

Had an incredible tour with Marc as he walked us around the city, explaining what Hitler’s time in Vienna was like. Learned a lot from this tour, it was very informative and Marc was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller.
