Fort St Elmo - National War Museum, Valletta, Malta After some free time for a lunch break you will walk to the lower level of Valletta to the Malta War Museum. The museum itself is situated at Fort St. Elmo, an original defensive system built by the Knights which also was modified to serve the British military purpose. Among the numerous exhibits are the fuselage of one of the legendary Gloster Gladiators and well as the E-boat (human torpedo). 60 minutes
Vittoriosa Waterfront - Birgu Waterfront, Malta The tour will begin in Vittoriosa where you will see the fortifications which date back to the times of the Knights and were later used by the British for their defensive purpose. You will visit the maze like, underground Air Raid shelters and relive the conditions of what has been referred to as the Second Great Siege of Malta. These subterranean bomb shelters were excavated in the solid rock and were extended as the war progressed. 60 minutes
Grand Harbour, Malta After a short walk of Vittoriosa you will be driven to Valletta by bus. You will walk to the upper Barrakka Garden which enjoys a spectacular view of the Grand Harbour (the largest natural harbor of the Mediterranean Sea), which was a British military base and the main reason why Malta came under fire as soon as Mussolini declared war on the Allied forces. 60 minutes

This tour was educational and informative and complemented the Original Valletta Walking Tour perfectly.is largely focused on World War2 and post modern Malta. The world War 2 bunker was the highlight and the Museum of Malta was a great experience also.A truly great holiday experience|.

Wij hadden een hele fijne gids Vincent. Hij wist veel over de geschiedenis van Malta en was fijn in omgang. De tocht bestond niet alleen maar uit ww2 gedeelte maar ook nog de geschiedenis van Malta op zijn breeds.

A good trip to main WW2 sites, but marred by poor guide (Mario) performance.
Took place on Friday 11th Nov, Armistice day.
"lost" one guest at first stop, but unsure if she ever got on the bus. Then spent so long looking for her that we missed the Armistice Day parade, artillery salute and flypast, one of the day's expected highlights for me and for other members of the tour.
Guide continued talking at 12 noon when the 2 minute silence should have been observed, disrespectful.
Guide marched off ahead and left group spread out in busy streets. Had to be called back to wait at one point as some of the group over 50m behind.
Over an hour in the bus from hotel pick (Mellieha) up to start of tour and same at the end.
Guide picked up part way to start of tour, and pointed out key sights as we passed on way to Valetta. No guest engagement on return to hotels. Spent all of the time chatting to the driver.
Group handed over to the museum manager at the air raid shelter, and left to own devices for 2 hours at excellent Malta History museum. Guide knowledgeable and shared information on the parts of the tour that he led.
This was still an interesting day out with excellent views of the historic parts of the cities, but could have been so much better.
Not recommended if you are based away from Valetta/Sliema/St Julians area, and ideally a different guide.
