Thanks to Great Adventure and guide, Santosh for arranging this trek earlier this month. I enjoyed all their services and would highly recommend them for their professionalism.
I had a wonderful experience.
We had an excellent experience. We, a group of 12, all over 60 years, were doing this trek to celebrate 50 Years of formation of our IIT Bombay Mountaineering Club. We indeed were on the right trek and the right operator. Not only was the trek route excellent, giving us close views of Machhapuchhare, Mardi Himal & the Annapurna Range, but also took us through dense rhododendron forests. Though this is within ACAP, the traffic on this route was sparse. So we could fully enjoy the experience. Even though for the first couple of days we had heavy rains resulting in cancellation of our Kathmandu - Pokhara flight, Mr. Mani immediately arranged for alternative road transport. Mr Mani’s Trek Leader Mr. Ram, Asst. Trek Leader Mr. Ganesh and the support team of 6, were very courteous and ensured that all enjoyed the trek, didn’t rush us enable each to walk at their own pace. The hotels we were put up in Kathmandu as well as Pokhara were good. Through out the journey, we were well fed. On returning to Kathmandu, Mr. Mani treated us for a Nepali dinner, where we had an ex
experience of Nepali culture. When it was time to leave, it was rather emotional. The fond memories of the time we spent on the Mardi Himal Trek as well as in Nepal will be cherished for years to come and look forward to visiting again. I have no reservations in recommending Mr. Mani & his organization for your treks & visits to Nepal
Back to Mumbai, India now, after enjoying "Mardi Himal Trek" (7th to 13th October 2022 - Pokhara-Pokhara), organised by "The Great Adventure Treks & Tours, Kathmandu".
Mr Mani Barakoti,
Please accept my deepest gratitude for making all arrangements for this wonderful trek.
We began our interactions in August 2022 and did a few iterations in finalising the plan & schedule. I was quite impressed by your promptness, in responding to our queries & suggestions, without getting irritated, in first few meetings itself.
Finally, our group of 12, all above 60 years of age, set out on 6th Oct from different cities in India and assembled at your "Hotel Everest Nepal" in Kathmandu.
The weather played a spoilsport... our flight to Pokhara was cancelled the next day... you immediately made alternate arrangement to reach Pokhara by a comfortable bus by midnight (12 hours road travel instead of 30 min by flight!)
Good that we had kept an extra day at Pokhara on our return.
We travelled by road to "Dhampus", started our trek from there on 8th Oct morning (delayed by a day) and reached the "High Camp" (3,550 m) on 11th Oct, after camping at 3 Tea Houses -
"Deurali" (2,100 m), "Forest Camp" (2,520 m), "Low Camp" (2,970 m).
SIX from our group reached the height of 4,200 m at "Upper Viewpoint" on 12th Oct.
The descent and return to Pokhara was done in two days, camping at "Badal Danda" (3,300 m), without any issues.
Your support team of 2 guides & 6 porters was excellent and very supportive.
The main guide, Mr Ramachandra Timalsina, made sure that all participants reached the destinations at their our pace.
I also appreciate the design of this trek route and established infrastructure on the way.
Our stay at Tea Houses at all camps was comfortable.
Once again, many thanks to you and your support team, for making this trek memorable to all of us.
This was my first visit to Nepal... hope to visit again in future.
