See butchers at work, locals crowded around food stalls, vendors with their wares spread out on the ground, pastry and bread makers, spice and olive markets, and so much more! Along the way there's lots of eating—10+ tastings at 6+ stops—but Moroccan food is only half the fun!

    We start our Casablanca Food Tour with several Moroccan food tastings in the beautiful historic neighborhood of Habbous. Along the way, you'll meander under arched walkways, see artisanal crafts and housewares, and learn about local history, architecture and food. But that's just the beginning, because next we'll take you deep into the back streets and markets of a nearby city neighborhood, where'll you sample authentic Moroccan street food, wander through a covered market, and see what urban Moroccan lifestyle, culture and food is all about.

  • A minimum of 2 adult guests is required for the tour to run.
  • Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early as the tour must depart on schedule. Expect a moderate amount of walking and to be on your feet for 3 hours.
  • We cannot guarantee quick access to a public bathroom for most of the experience, but you'll find one at the start point and end point. Please keep this in mind, particularly if bringing children.
  • We run the tour rain or shine; please come prepared for the weather.
  • We advise guests to dress modestly as we're visiting a non-touristy area of Casablanca. In warmer months avoid bare shoulders, bare midriffs or legs exposed above the knee.
  • Evening tour guests: Taxis are difficult to catch in Habbous at night after the tour ends. Your booking confirmation will suggest options for your return transportation.
  • We recommend not bringing expensive cameras on this tour, or at least not wearing one on a neck strap. Cross body bags and backpacks are preferable to shoulder bags.
  • Aside from infants, non-paying guests are not allowed, even if not eating.
  • This tour is not ideal for those with severe food allergies or those on vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free diets. Message us if you have a dietary restriction and we'll do our best to make substitutions when possible.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

If you want to learn more about the New Medina and get a taste of Morocco you must do this food tour! Nezha, our guide, was a wealth of information and provided us a fantastic tour of the new Medina as well as provided us with taste experiences of tea, breads, olives, fruits, lunch with meats & salads and of course cookies and deserts. A great way to experience Casablanca.

This was a great tour. The host took us through the Habbous district, telling us about the history of the district and the culture, and taking us to some very memorable food vendors. My personal favourite was enjoying a hot chicken pastilla at Patisserie Bennis Habbous. We were there a few weeks before Ramadan, so we also ate a number of traditional cookies from the Patisserie. It was excellent. I enjoyed all of the tour, and it really helped that our guide, Nezha, was so knowledgeable and patient.

We had a fantastic time from start to finish with Nezha! She is a wonderful guide, and made us feel like a friend in her city. We were presented with great food throughout the tour - many bites were planned by her far in advance, but if we pointed at anything that looked good, she'd buy it for us to eat some more. She even sent us home with treats. In addition to all of the great food, Nezha told us so much about the neighborhoods we were in, and gave us a real taste of Moroccan life in Casablanca. Anyone who goes on this tour will have a great time - just make sure to come hungry! I can't imagine us having our trip without this day with Nezha.
