The Petrification Savannah, in French called "Savane des Pétrifications" is at the southernmost end of the peninsula of St. Anne. Your professional guide will enable you to discover this exceptional desert-like site! The place owes its strange name to the fact that fossilised pieces of wood and even trees could once be admired there. In fact it is the oldest part of Martinique. Not far from the Petrification Savannah, you can take a break to appreciate the charms of the beach at the Big Cove of Les Salines (Grande Anse des Salines - the most famous beach of Martinique), whose fine sand, coconut trees and turquoise sea delight sunbathers. The level of english of the guide is limited but ok for the tour.

Belle rando au départ du parking situé avant le camping. Niveau facile Faite avec 2 enfants ( 10 ans et 5 ans), pensez à y aller avec des baskets creme solaire et eau. Certaines parties sont ombragées. Paysages magnifiques. Attention le départ se fait les pieds dans l'eau: conseil ne pas traverser sur les rochers ils sont glissants.

Garez vous après les petits restaurants de la plage des salines (environ 1km de chemin,,) ou commencent les campements des toiles de tentes. Prenez le long de la plage qui vous emmènera jusqu' au petit point de la savane. La vue, l eau turquoise et la plage sauvage sont paradisiaques. La savane avec son paysage aride orné de cactus est tout simplement impressionnant. Contraste assuré avec la plage paradisiaque qui nous y a emmené. Nous sommes arrivés à 8h30 avons pu déjeuner chez Henry et nous reposer sous les cocotiers sur la plage des salines. A faire absolument !
