There's more to our town than witches! FAME is a full-scale replica of a privateer schooner from the War of 1812 that captured over 20 prizes! We sail up to five times a day between May and October from Pickering Wharf Marina in downtown Salem. On board our traditional gaff-rigged schooner, you'll get a chance to raise the sails and even steer the boat as we sail Salem Sound and talk about the fisherman, traders, and privateers that played such a central role in the saga of Salem, and of the young United States. This is a great hands-on adventure — but you can also just sit back and enjoy a beverage and take it all in as we cruise past the historic forts and lighthouses of Salem, Beverly, & Marblehead. Note: although the captain & crew have plenty to tell you, this is NOT a narrated tour! No children under five allowed.

This was a very nice way to start off a Salem vacation. The crew was friendly and fun. We had a great experience. The drink specialty is the dirty Shirley. It is delicious and a must try.

One of the best days I had while visiting all the Boston & Cape Cod sites. For those who have interest in history, the Fame, a replica of a an early 1800 privateer is very interesting sailing adventure, and Captain Mike & his wife are both great people! So do yourself a favor and take a trip, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

First trip to Salem. Didn't get caught up in the witchery, but enjoyed the maritime history in Salem. Captain & crew very personable. Became part of the crew & helped to raise the sails. Great trip for young & old. Enjoyed the tour despite a few rain showers.
