Vito gave us a fantastic tour of Sassi. He provided insights into the history and culture of the city that we could not learn about by reading. He patiently answered all our questions and was extremely knowledgeable. We would highly recommend Vito for a tour.

We have never heard about Matera before I researched for South Italy trip two months ago. But to read and to watch all the documentaries were nothing in comparison with seeing the real thing. We were very excited and Vito did a great job in taking us to places and through the history of the old town. He was nice, polite, patient and kind. Because his family has lived there for generations, he gave the insight that non-inhabitants could not. I definitely recommend XL , three hours tour, as I believe that you need the time to understand the town and the people.

We hired Vito to do a 2 hour tour for 2 couples in Matera and I would highly recommend him to anyone making a visit. Vito is very knowledgeable of the area and we felt very fortunate to have the insight of a guide who was born and raised in Matera. You can tell his passion for the people and the place. His English is impeccable, which is good because our Italian is pretty bad. Thank you so much Vito for sharing your hometown with us.
