This was a great activity for our kids while on Maui. We did this hike with kids ages 4, 6, 8 and 9 and it was perfect for them! It was a relatively easy hike though at a couple points the younger kids needed a little assistance getting up and over obstacles on the path. The tour guide was great with the kids and did a nice job of making sure everyone got a turn leading the group. When we stopped at the watering hole, it was definitely moving much too quickly to consider going in so we definitely didn't need our bathing suits (or water shoes) but there may be times when swimming is a possibility. We were so happy to have a chance to see this beautiful area and have a guide to lead us. We also didn't realize that we could have stayed after the hike to explore further if we had wanted which is a nice extra if you're inclined to do additional hiking.

This is a great activity for younger kids ages 6, 8 & 10. Our guide, Andrea, was wonderful and engaged our children. Our children enjoyed the treasure hunt and the hike was very doable for the kids. It was a great activity. The only criticism is that it could have been more educational for the kids although our guide did share about local plants, and animals. It wasn’t the most bang for our buck since we could have done the hike on our own but it was nice to have a guide who kept the kids engaged for about two and a half hours with a great treasure box at the end. My kids loved it. In the future, we will do the hike on our own and spend more time at the state park. We could easily make it a day activity with packed lunch and taking swims in the creek. It’s a great location and if you do not want too think about it too much, we highly recommend the tour.

This treasure hunt was amazing. My son, along with two other boys that were 6 spent the hours traversing the state park looking for clues to help them find the treasure. Our leader Darren was superb and his energy was awesome in encouraging the kids to find all the clues. I would highly encourage this family adventure.
